How Is My Great Grandmother Connected To Affiliate Marketing?
In 1850, when she was only 17 years old, my great grandmother, Mathilda, arrived in California with her three older brothers and her parents, who were among the hundreds of thousands of Americans and foreigners who traveled to the Western state in hope of striking gold.
According to what my grandfather told my mother and my mother told me, Mathilda, almost single-handedly, discovered one of the richest gold mines in Sierra Nevada. My mother also told me that Mathilda engaged in a forbidden love affair with an older and married man, who subsequently fathered my great grandfather. But this is a different story altogether.
As you can probably imagine, Mathilda was a remarkable woman. The enormous wealth she had acquired in 1852 in California was totally lost by her grandson, my grandfather, in 1929 in New York, when the stock market crashed. Fortunately, she died in 1920 and was spared the heartbreak.
“What in the world is he talking about?” I can hear you asking yourself right now, “What does that have to do with affiliate marketing?” Be patient, my friend. You’ll know in a minute.
An estimated 300,000 people, man, women and children, went to California in the middle of the 19th century, in search of fortunes. Only few of them discovered gold and became rich. Those were the ones who did not miss on the opportunity when it presented itself to them; then, they were blessed with the guts to take chances on the road to realize their dreams; and finally, they acquired the knowledge and the tools to achieve their goal. My great grandmother, Mathilda, was amongst them. She left us a great legacy: “He who dares – conquers.”
This is it, my friend. Affiliate marketing is the Gold Rush of the beginning of the 21st century. Don’t miss out on it. Grab the opportunity now, before it’s too late. If you want to fulfill your dreams of gold, have courage, get yourself the knowledge and the tools, and go get it!
The Internet is already very developed and overwhelming, but it is still so very young. It is now as the West has been in the 1850’s, paved with hidden gold. But today you don’t need a pan and a shovel and you don’t need to invest hard physical work, you can sit on the sofa with your laptop on your lap. Only the gold is still the same glittering gold. Anybody can find it, you too.
