Wise Marketing, Learning the Hard Way
Not long ago I joined a new Affiliate Marketing program. I wanted to add a little to my bottom line and found a program I knew would do it for me. While I’m not new to marketing I am new to this kind of program. Thinking I knew it all I didn’t pay attention to the program details.
In the home based business field there are literally hundreds of internet companies that promise to make the newbie Entrepreneur wealthy by drawing in targeted traffic through their advertising programs. Having bought into a few of them I can say for a fact they are junk and are simply sucking money out of the new wannabe marketer. Better said, they don’t work. But of course I learned this the hard way having bought into several blast your ad to 10 million web site advertisers and others. of course they do blast your ad to 10 million sites and of course you get 0 results.
There are many other programs available to help the newbie grow his business. Often these programs promise to make them wealthy in a short period of time. Mentoring programs are on the top of the list. While there are a few that will actually produce very good results if the new marketer stays with the program long enough. Most simply do not provide quality results.
For me these were not real helpful and for most Network/Affiliate marketers they are not worth it. Neither of those are Niche markets and they definitely are not tight. So it ended up being more wasted money I didn’t need to spend.
I’m a little slow to learn new things especially when I think I know it all. My In-Box has been swamped with emails for the last few weeks. All coming from advertising and marketing companies I either spent some money with or simply made an enquiry to. Unfortunately these fine people do not understand it is wasted email space. I delete them and empty the trash as quickly as I see them.
Not that I am a slow learner or hard to teach new tricks to although I believe that I am, I was swamped by emails that I had created myself. I was the one who asked for information and I know what that means. Marketing companies will send information until you are blue in the face or tell them to stop. In my rush to create a new marketing plan and to delete the emails from companies I wasn’t interested I completely overlooked the fact that not only did my new company have a terrific product with a money making business plan they also had a terrific marketing plan. The solution to my problem was right in front of my face although I couldn’t see it.
Most companies who market on the internet through either Affiliate marketing or Network marketing have both a product of value and a marketing plan to help the new person grow their business. Some are of high value and offer a solid marketing plan while others offer plans that are nearly useless.
Having looked at many online opportunities and promotional companies I known there are many companies that will simply sell the new person a bill of goods and products that simply will not work. The online marketing industry is huge and a large percentage of it is aimed at the inexperienced newbie knowing very well their thirst for success will cause them to buy into their program no matter if it holds real value or not. Unfortunately there are far to many new people who are just starting out with a home based business that fall for the traps and spend money on things that will not work.
Many online companies have been around for many years and are experienced in promoting their business. Many of the newer companies have been started by people who have been in the online business for years and have a lot of experience to offer. They all want their company to succeed and they know their success depends on the success of their representatives. Most offer top notch marketing strategies and products that will not only build their company but they will also build yours. Your company needs to be the first place you look for successful marketing ideas.
